The Mattel Creepy Crawler Thingmaker was one of my absolute favorite toys as a kid. It included a hot and dangerous Thingmaker, some metal molds and this liquid plastic goo called Plastigoop stuff in bottles. You pour the Plastigoop in the molds, put the molds in the Thingmaker oven and watched as your bugs were made. After a few minutes you removed the mold, let it cool and could then remove your bugs!
It was awesome! I particularly remember the distinct smell of the cooking Plastigoop. Someday when I get my finances in order, I’m going to buy one of these again.
Here’s a vintage TV commercial of this marvelous toy. Check it out:
I found an amazing auction. This one is of a Schuco Radiocar 4012 Cutmodel antique tin toy car. It is 1 of only eleven made and comes from Switzerland. A very rare item indeed. From 1955 and includes a wooden box and clear dome. Includes musical gears that play a song you may know.
